Meet the Team

I graduated from Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2015 and have worked across 9 practices in the North East and Yorkshire learning a variety of different skills and observing how other dental practices operate. I have done post graduate training in different fields including advanced restorative dentistry, teeth straightening and cosmetic dentistry.

My special interest in dentistry is working alongside anxious patients to build their trust and confidence in coming to see me so that I can serve their needs in the way which is right for them. My core value is honestly and I will always be transparent and open with my patients.

I founded a community called Dental Disruptors whose purpose is to educate and support clinicians in the industry to navigate the challenges of finding the right practice to work in. This is a passion project of mine and gives me a great deal of pride and pleasure in helping other clinicians not to make the mistakes I did when starting out in dentistry. I provide educational videos, I write blogs, record podcasts, do lectures, host monthly masterminds and have created a platform where clinicians can share their experiences together.

My two dogs Nala and Kovu keep me busy, filthy and tired at times but I love every minute I spend with them. I play board games and video games being the nerd that I am and listen to rock, metal and classical music. I play piano and electric guitar and I enjoy callisthenic training have recently started acrobatic gymnastics training.

I graduated from Manchester Dental Hospital in 2011 before moving to London to complete my Vocational Training. I then moved on to work in hospital posts in London, working in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Specialist Restorative departments where I gained the MFDS postgraduate qualification. I then spent two and a half years applying the skills I had learnt in a busy practice in South London.

Originally from North Yorkshire, I moved back to the area joining Market Place Dentistry in January 2016. I enjoy getting to know patients and providing high quality dental care. I have a keen interest in postgraduate education and regularly attend courses to keep up to date with modern techniques.

Outside of work I enjoy running, cycling and following the ups and downs of Leeds United.

BChD Leeds 2014

GDC no. 251765

I qualified from Leeds Dental Institute in 2004. Shortly after graduation, I joined a practice in a small town in Lincolnshire as a Vocational Trainee where I remained for 10 years. Working in a family-run, community-focused practice enabled me to build on my personal and dental skills with patient care at the foremost. I was supported by a wonderful team of various ages and skill backgrounds providing the perfect environment to nurture the skills I offer today. In 2015 I returned to Yorkshire and have worked in various local practices allowing me a comprehensive knowledge of both NHS and private care.

In 2014 I embarked on specialising in the placement and restoration of dental implants. After completing a year course with Tipton Training, I am now progressing with an MSc in Dental implantology and have completed numerous courses to offer the most up to date technologies and techniques in this field

I really enjoy helping patients meet their dental needs and especially enjoy helping nervous patients to overcome their fears. Implantology is an exciting and rewarding field to work in and a great technology for restoring lost smiles and confidence.  I believe in treating patients with compassion, kindness and honesty. I will always go that extra mile to ensure you achieve the results you are looking for.

Outside of the dental world I am with my energetic twin toddlers and we often find ourselves at petting zoos and soft play centres at the weekend . I love to exercise and also enjoy daily meditation.

In my spare time I regularly compete at horse shows throughout the country. I have also had the great honour of training and competing HM The Queen’s horses whilst based in London.

I enjoy keeping fit and my next goal is to complete a Tough Mudder endurance trial.

I have spent 10 years in medical nursing in a variety of roles which are based around plastic surgery and complex burn management. I have worked in regional burns centres in the North East and Yorkshire.  I wanted a new challenge and changed careers into dentistry and now work as the manager of the dental practice here.

I have two dogs, Nala and Kovu who take up most of my spare time these days. I love walks in the woods and down the river with them getting all muddy and wet. I enjoy aerial sports such as hoop, pole and silks.

I joined the practice in September 2021 after working as Cabin Crew for five years.

After moving to Thirsk, I decided to take the plunge into dentistry after being very interested in the profession for a number of years, and I am so glad that I did!

I have been made to feel so welcome by a truly fantastic team of people, and working in Thirsk is just wonderful.

The best part of the role is the people of course! I love welcoming patients and always making the customer the heart of every decision.

In my spare time, I love catching up with friends and family, baking and also walking my lovely dogs Dottie and Freddie.

I joined the practice in September 2022 having retired from a career in education. I’ve lived in and around North Yorkshire all my life, moving to Thirsk in 2016.
I really enjoy meeting patients, helping to manage appointments and working with such a friendly and welcoming team.
In my spare time I’m a very hands on granny to three gorgeous little people. I also enjoy exploring the towns and countryside of North Yorkshire with family and friends.

Hello! Our names are Kovu and Nala and we are the practice mascots!

Kovu is a 7 month old Nova Scotian Duck Tolling Retriever (a “Toller” for short) and Nala is a 2 year old Golden Retriever crossed with a Labrador (a “Goldador”)

They come to the practice a few days a week and stay in the office with Haylie our practice manager. You might hear them woofing from time to time (especially at delivery people!) but they are very friendly and love nothing more than getting love and attention and returning it back with kisses.

Rest assured we have a practice policy in place to ensure that they are not allowed in any patient areas and are restricted to the office in an enclosed area.

If you want to see or pet them just ask at reception they would be more than happy to meet you!
