If you are unable to eat, smile or socialise confidently due to missing teeth, the good news is we can help.
Dental implants
Implants are the gold standard method to replace missing teeth. They are fixed in place and are as close as you can get to having your natural teeth back. This means you can have confidence again when you eat, smile and socialise.
More and more of our patients are choosing dental implants as their treatment of choice.
Adhesive bridge
For single missing front teeth, adhesive bridges are often a good option.
The bridge consists of a porcelain tooth, attached to a ‘wing’ which is glued to the back of an adjacent natural tooth for support. This relies on the strength of the adhesive, so it puts very little strain on the supporting tooth.
Adhesive bridges can periodically come away, in which case we can re-fix them. The heavy forces present mean we cannot use adhesive bridges for back teeth.
We carry out the treatment over two appointments. At the first, we prepare the supporting tooth and take impressions of the teeth. A dental technician will then custom make the bridge for you, which we fit at the second appointment.
Conventional Bridge
We can use conventional bridges to replace back teeth. They are more heavy-duty than adhesive bridges and take most of their support from the supporting natural teeth either side, rather than from the adhesive.
To fit a conventional bridge, we need to shave the supporting teeth back, which can increase the risk of further problems such as decay and abscess.
We tend to do fewer conventional bridges nowadays, as dental implants provide an excellent solution to missing teeth without compromising the natural teeth either side.

Removable Dentures
Removable dentures can be used in almost any situation to replace missing teeth.
We can usually make dentures which are comfortable, and which look natural, although it may take time for you to adapt to a new denture.
Dentures can be made of acrylic (plastic) or Cobalt-chrome. Cobalt-chrome dentures tend to be more comfortable, secure and low-profile but we can discuss with you which type of denture may be best.
We would make dentures over a series of 4 appointments. During this time a dental technician would custom-make the dentures for you.
